Yukon River Bridge: "The Toughest Bridge on Earth"
The E. L. Patton Yukon River Bridge is a massive girder bridge that spans the Yukon River in the Interior region of Alaska. Officially named after Edward Patton, the former president of the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, it is the only bridge to cross the Yukon River in the state of Alaska. The bridge serves as a critical link on the Dalton Highway (Alaska Route 11), connecting Fairbanks with the Prudhoe Bay oil fields.Â
